For what it’s worth Keyshia Cole sounds great and the R&B arrangement isn’t bad. I’m just tired of the same songs being recorded over and over with nothing new being done to justify the new recording. There are dozens of similar & different versions of this song so why record it? My cynical side says “to fill the CD.” Maybe not, but with so many of the same songs released each year my cynical side may be on to something. There isn’t anything new here. It’s just OK.

This usually alternative and classical-listening white boy could listen to Keysh sing for HOURS on end. She strikes this perfect balance between soft femininity and raw vocal power that makes you want to grab a diamond and propose to that voice. If you can get into Christmas music at all, this song is hot. Turn it up. One of the greatest vocalists of our time at age 28, I can’t wait to hear the rest of her career. I’m not a big fan of Christmas songs in general, but with fresh, bumpy takes like this, I could easily get into that Christmas spirit.
