I am thrilled that Amazon is giving this out as a free download. I get no greater satisfaction than from watching closed-minded bible bangers rant about this so-called “antithesis of christmas”. Please. The real antithesis of Christmas is about 99% of the festivities involved with an “American” Christmas. So let’s just move on from that.

More importantly, this song rocks. It does. Here are some reasons why:

*This isn’t a Christmas song (A. It was released in March. B. But then again, what is a Christmas song?). Granted, it does say Christmas multiple times, but no it is merely an alternative to the increasingly bland amalgamation of decreasingly original holiday tunes.

*In typical GaGa style, it is blatantly offensive and sexual (she’s just sayin’ what we’re all thinkin’… Maybe)

*It totally bumps. Yeah, when was the last time your Sarah McLachlan christmas CD got the party going like this? Didn’t think so.

So if you want to burn a collection of classic carols to bring to your church-sponsored holiday mixer, I highly recommend putting “Christmas Tree” by Lady GaGa for the first song, in order to better find out the TRUE meaning of Christmas (whether or not your high-strung friends will forgive you enough for soiling their ears by not mentioning your grotesque musical taste in the next church newsletter, of course) . But if you are one of those that would rather keep your bible study group, pick something else. Otherwise, crank up the GaGa and take some of her advice…
